I engaged Mr. Torok on two separate occasions to help complete remodeling projects at my home.  I am pleased to write this letter to others who consider him to provide specialized finishes that achieve artistic quality.

Mr. Torok and his crew were very professional.  They showed up at the job site on time and they were very attentive to preparing the site for work and making sure the site was kept clean.  It was obvious that his crew takes considerable pride in executing the tasks that Mr. Torok directs.

Istvan works very closely with the owner to determine the best ceiling, wall, molding, or furniture finish that achieves the owner’s objectives.  He is committed to getting it right, and assuring the owner’s complete satisfaction.  He obviously is a very talented artist.  He has considerable knowledge and expertise related to European specialty finishes that achieve a remarkable result.  He is extremely detail oriented.

In late 2005, we decided to make numerous cosmetic updates and improvements to our home.  The home is fairly new, built in 2001, however was, perhaps best described, as ‘plain vanilla’.  We worked with a general contractor/home builder to accomplish our goals, including all new floors, outdoor paneled ceilings, new stairwell, and new stone and bathroom configurations.  Once this work was completed, we moved onto the walls and finish work for the house.  Istvan Torok was referred to us by our general contractor, and we met with him in early 2006. 

I (Denise) met with Istvan, walked through our home, looked at his portfolio, and described the general look and feel that we wanted for our home.  Istvan made several specific and general recommendations, and I could tell that he knew exactly what we wanted.  After several other short meetings to decide on more specific wall finishes for the first areas to be completed, work began in July of 2006. 

His staff were always, throughout the entire process, friendly, polite, cooperative, and as neat as could be expected given the nature of the work being done.  This was incredibly important because they were in our home, where we continued to live and conduct our businesses, for 6 months.  There was always good communication regarding the status of the work and if there needed to be scheduling changes.

We did not set out a specific, room-by-room plan at the start.  After listening to what we hoped to achieve, Istvan made recommendations and sample boards for the first 3 areas to be completed.  The venetian plaster-based finish in these areas is stunning!  Once these areas were almost finished, the same process occurred for the next areas.  This continued throughout the home.  We would talk about color, finish, texture and the general feel each room needed, and Istvan would make it all come to life.  Each room is different, but they all flow together beautifully.  The finishes are spectacular and now, 6 months later, we still love to just look at the work he did.  We simply can’t say enough about how the finishes by Istvan and his staff changed our home, making it quite unique and stunning!

We are so thankful we were referred to Istvan and highly recommend him to anyone who wants to make their home a uniquely beautiful work of art.
